CHOO CHOO TROUPE'S FIRST EVER SHOW
After jamming together throughout 2015, seven loose but committed idiots decided to formalise the affair. A name was proposed - Choo Choo Troupe - and a show was booked - Synaturesthesia. We were going to the Perth and Adelaide Fringe Festivals!
It was a roller coaster that involved cancelled shows, a one star review in one paper, a special mention in another, the electricity being cut off, and a room full of naked people blocking our entrance to the theatre. On top of that, between the Perth and Adelaide seasons Sharnema Nougar needed to rush back to Sydney, so Ali Gordon (who happened to be in town visiting family) stepped into Sharney's false teeth and got on stage only a few weeks after giving birth and with no rehearsal.
It was a wild ride, but it forged the desire to keep working together and keep getting better at this illuminating, interactive, comedy we call clown.

Following the worldwide revival of the clown, Choo Choo Troupe are bringing their delightfully stupid comedy show to the 2016 Adelaide Fringe and 2016 Fringe World Perth.
Condense comedy into its purest form and you’ll find a clown; naive, proud and willing to do anything to please.
Choo Choo Troupe’s six clowns follow the French master Phillipe Gaulier, known for training Sacha Baron Cohen, Phil Burgers aka Dr Brown, Helena Bonham Carter and Emma Thompson.
Audiences go through a series of ridiculous rituals, games and encounters with the most stupid set of characters you could ever hope to see on stage. It’s not social commentary, but does play with the absurdity of life.
Choo Choo Troupe are a collective of Sydney based performers who are tied together by an innate desire to act like idiots. They take their tomfoolery seriously and have been crafting their solo nitwits in professional creative lives across visual arts, acting, animation, design, comedy, history, science and mathematics.
